EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

We are currently seeking applicants for a Lead Pastry Chef and Artisan Bread Baker. These positions are year-round and can be either part-time or full-time. Competitive pay, employee discounts and a fun work environment! 

Responsibilities of Pastry Chef:

  • Prepare a wide variety of pastries including cookies, scones, muffins, danish, etc. 
  • Ensure that all pastries are consistently prepared and served according to the bakery’s recipes, portioning, baking and serving standards. 
  • Take inventory of ingredients, and check the quantity and quality of received products.
  • Maintain proper food handling and holding standards.
  • Clean and organize workstation, cooking surfaces and equipment.
  • Answers customer inquiries in a sensible manner.
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the bakery.

Useful Skills for Pastry Chef:

  • Knowledge of safe food handling techniques.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of basic pastry and food preparation techniques.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, bend and stand for long durations of time.
  • Ability to work as a team or independently.
  • Positive, upbeat attitude.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities of Bread Baker:

  • Mix, shape and bake bread according to traditional and modern recipes.
  • Ensure that all breads are prepared and served in accordance to the bakery’s recipes, portioning, baking and serving standards.
  • Take Inventory of baking ingredients and check the quantity and quality of received products.
  • Clean and organize workstation, cooking surfaces and equipment. 
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the overall operation of the bakery.

Useful Skills for Bread Baker:

  • Previous wood-fired baking experience is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of basic baking processes and safe food handling standards.
  • Familiarity with a variety of bread doughs and bread preparation techniques.
  • Experience operating commercial baking equipment.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, bend and stand for long durations of time.
  • Possess an acute attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
